Watched the first episode of historian Michael Morley’s The Victorian Slum on BBC2, a sort of historical ‘reality TV’. The mock tenement is thus far very interesting, coming complete with provisions shop and even a local spike, and all recreated in Stratford, East London. Somewhere on Fish Island I’d imagine? Well worth a look and better still a longer look.  The programme page with clips may be accessed here.

Welcome to my ‘Media Watch’ series of occasional posts in which I shall introduce and discuss genealogy related TV and radio programs which have attracted my interest and which I hope you will enjoy and/or find helpful for your own research projects.
